Coffee Background: ASPROTIMANA, in collaboration with Servicio Nacional de Aprendizaje (SENA), has been empowering women in coffee production for the past three years. With training and support, these 53 women producers have mastered specialty coffee processing techniques using their own micro-mills. Cultivating coffee alongside shade trees, bananas, corn, and beans, they meticulously hand-sort cherries before depulping, fermenting, washing, and drying the coffee.
Partnering with San Miguel, an export company based in Huila, ASPROTIMANA ensures traceability and quality control throughout the post-harvest process. Together, they aim to improve the quality of life for coffee producers and their families by marketing women's coffee internationally, gaining improved premiums, and expanding their market reach.
