I'll always be honest with you: the coffee world can feel like that one kid in class who used big words just to sound smart. If you’ve ever stared at a coffee label full of acronyms and tasting notes that sound like a wine tasting in space - same.

We’re not here to play that game.

We’re Kickback Coffee Roasters: a woman-owned, educator-led company serving up bold coffees, better vibes, and big-hearted missions. We believe your morning brew should do more than wake you up; it should teach you something, connect you to someone, and taste amazing while doing it.

So go ahead, put your knowledge cap back on - dust it off, get it dry-cleaned, whatever you need to do - because with every sip, you're learning something new: about where your coffee comes from, who it supports, and why it matters.

She put in over a decade doing the real work - teaching, leading, and building community in Philly public schools - before heading west to Los Angeles. Same mission, better weather, way more oat milk. She saw how human connection could literally change lives so she thought, “Why not try that with coffee?” Because if coffee is how everyday superheroes (aka teachers) start their day, it should do more than just wake you up. It should teach you something, taste incredible, and maybe even heal your soul a little.

So, what makes us different?

• Whole-bean, single origin magic. We roast thoughtfully sourced, ethically grown, gloriously weird beans that punch way above their weight class. We partner with small-scale farmers who care about quality, sustainability, and not being the reason the world explodes. Your cup does more than caffeinate: it connects. And it tastes 1000x better than whatever you found at the bottom of your pantry.

• No snobbery, just flavor. You don’t need to know what “terroir” means to love our coffee. No one’s getting quizzed here - though, we did tell you to put on your student hat. Whether you’re a casual morning sipper or a full-blown coffee obsessive who owns a gooseneck kettle and probably needs an additional, outside hobby, we’ve got you. And we’ll never lecture you about tasting “sunshine on a mango's third cousin.” Unless you ask.

• Each coffee gives. Every bag supports the stuff that actually matters. Together, we’re backing youth sports in underfunded cities, rescuing animals (yes, especially bunnies), and creating opportunities for people with disabilities. You sip. We serve. Everybody wins.

• Kickback is more than a name. It’s a whole vibe. (We say things like that now that we live in L.A.) A reminder to slow down, breathe, and enjoy your coffee like it’s the one nice thing happening today.
